One of the best decisions I’ve ever made is to follow my heart. I wasn’t too happy with what’s going on in my career more than half a decade ago. I was already deliberating whether to stop working for a while or to continue and see where the discontent would lead me. I chose to do the former.
You know what? Here I am now happy with the decision I made. I have no regrets with cutting my old career short because life was so much better after I made that choice.
I am totally looking forward to what this year will bring…
2012, here I come! I am welcoming you with open arms and can’t wait to fully embrace you. I hope you will turn out to be the luckiest year I have and the beginning of more brilliant years to come!

This is my friend and her husband’s first Christmas together and I know that they are doing everything to make it extra special. I am happy for both of them and I wish I can personally greet them a very merry Christmas but they live on the other side of the planet so I will have to make do with video chat.
I can’t wait to hear what my friend’s husband got for her!
This will be part of my life goals. More time for myself. I’ve been giving my time for everyone and everything around me and I realized that I’ve been neglecting myself in the process. That will be remedied. This time around I will make myself a priority.
You should evaluate, too, and see if you have been neglecting yourself.
There’s nothing wrong to being available for everybody. But there should be a limit to it.
I plan to buy modern outdoor furniture for our patio/backyard. I want to entertain more at home next year. I plan to cook more, be more active at home than I was this year and the past years. I want to be more involved in everyone’s life.
I am actually excited!
I have more plans I want to do next year but I will be realistic this time around. Last year I’ve set impossible goals for myself and I just got frustrated over all of it. Not anymore. I will keep things real and will give myself some slack if I don’t get to accomplish some goals I have.
A neighbor of mine suffers from asthma. When it attacks, he really gets hospitalized. He couldn’t risk it this coming New Year’s eve celebrations so he and his family will be off to the countryside until the 5th of January next year. I heard about it when the neighbor dropped by and told my dad about the rv repair. They will be bringing their rv and will be staying in a place near his parents.
I wish my family and I can also hie off to the province whenever we feel like it. I need to get us one of those rv’s so that on our next out of town trip, we already have one to use.
I actually envy a friend of mine who will be making major changes in her condo unit next week, in time for the New Year’s celebrations. The remodeling has been happening for the past few months now. One-at-a-time change from room to room. She will be hosting a New Year’s Eve party and she doesn’t want her guests to find old stuff still in place after a decade.

I prefer to write notes on paper. I actually use post-its. I also have some small notepads always ready on my desk. Whenever inspiration strikes, or when something comes to mind, little things mostly, I reach out and pick up a post-it or a notepad to write on to. Memory preserved!

Even with a small apartment, my friend Jean would still like a compact garden in her veranda. She wants to be closer to nature, as she said it. She even made sure to borrow her parents’ compost tumbler to use for her pocket garden. And they encouraged her to use it because her parents know what plants and flowers can do to one’s mood.
Just a small garden that will make her feel closer to nature. That’s what Jean wants and she is taking steps to turn it into reality.
I do believe that the next time I drop by her place for a visit, she will lead me outside her veranda where her pocket garden will be…
I do believe that the barcode scanner is a great invention! Do you know why? Because it not only aids in the sales but also in tracking inventory and other important sales statistics that management needs. It also makes it easier for those in-charge to come up with logs and stats and all those numbers.
I am raving about the barcode scanner because I am in charge of doing an audit inventory in the company’s warehouse. Without the barcode scanner, I will have to do a manual count on random products of the company. I can’t imagine counting all those small spare parts manually! It will be a painstaking task for sure!
So can you imagine how a simple device can now make my life easier?

Let’s all try our hardest to stay positive despite all the hardships that we face each and every single day. I try to. And I tell my family to try as well. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, anyway.

You know a lot of times we take some persons for granted that we forget they also need us. I watched a show where small industrial parts where shown being laser stenciled and I was so fascinated by it! I wish someone will listen to me talk about the stuff that fascinates me. Even for just one time.
Baby Liana is adored by her godparents. She is our neighbors’ newborn baby and they all want to give her everything a baby needs. Can you imagine one of her godparents giving her a dozen personalized baby blanket gifts. It has her name on every blanket and I heard Liana’s parents raving about it! They love it! There are other baby gifts that keep on coming and the neighbors are so happy that they need not spend anything even on diapers because even those are provided for another one of Liana’s godparents.
If I am Liana’s mom I’d also be really happy that everyone loves my baby. Who would say no to gifts given out of love, right?
My cousin Debbie is a certified foodie. She loves tasting new dishes and trying it out in their kitchen by cooking it herself and making everyone at home taste it themselves. She has always been like that.
Now that she is through with high school, she wants to be able to stop even for a year or two before embarking on a college degree pursuit. She is also looking for Cooking Jobs where she can use the experience she has in her kitchen and where she knows she can make use of her ability to create new dishes.
I think we can all agree that it is utterly frustrating to experience a power interruption in the middle of working. Am I right? That’s why in the office there are extra toshiba laptops batteries ready for power interruption. Every employee with an issued laptop has an extra battery issued to him/her as well.
This is the best setup as power interruptions happen every now and then. Might as well be ready for one, right? I remember a power interruption that took place for more than three days due to a typhoon that hit the country. It was so terrible that internet cafe shops did everything they could to cater to the people who were looking for an internet connection like me.
I remember reading about this sage advice wherein it said that if you love what you do, it won’t feel work at all. There will be no unnecessary effort on your part because it will come naturally. You will give your best because you are inspired to do what you have to do. It’s because you love it!
Do what you love. Or you can love what you do. Either way, what you do won’t feel like work anymore if there’s love that comes from your heart.
There are days when I feel like losing myself to nothingness. You know, just doing nothing but a single thing that can make me forget about reality for a few hours. Biking comes to mind. But as I don’t know how, I can only stare at photos like the one above and dream about it.
One of these days, I will find something to lose myself into. A distraction of a good kind. A place where I can walk for hours back and forth, perhaps. A hobby that will consume my days and nights. A person who will consume my waking and dreaming hours.

Aubrey will be working for a big hospital as an intern starting January of next year. Since the money she has left after the board exams has been depleted applying for work in different hospitals and paying various fees, she is opting for discount scrubs from Marcus to wear for her internship. As soon as she gets her first allowance, she will buy some more scrubs she can wear to the hospital.
She is excited to start her first job. It might be an internship on paper but she will be working like a real nurse already albeit with supervision from the experienced ones. She doesn’t mind. She is actually looking forward to learn from them and she can’t wait to become a full pledged nurse after her internship!
We are teasing Jane, one of my neighborhood friends. She has this undying crush on a guy from the same neighborhood we’re in and we’ve seen the guy grow up alongside us. We don’t know why her crush on him doesn’t die even if the guy is clearly not interested in anything romantic. But it’s always there and she’s always willing to do anything for him.
Like they spent Friday night browsing the web to read the top 10 truck gps at the source. He will buy one and she knows Jane is a techy person so he asked her opinion on it. Imagine spending three hours at Jane’s den browsing the web and discussing technical stuff and Jane’s happy with it!
I was browsing through hundreds of books that were on sale when all of a sudden I heard someone scream (not too loudly but enough to turn heads) and call out my name. Two of my long lost college friends were also in the bookstore browsing books just like me! I won’t bore you with the details of our trip down memory lane but suffice it to say that our mini chat in the bookstore turned into an all-night reminiscing in a restaurant in Timog. Good thing the restaurant furniture were the comfy ones or we would have gotten blisters on our backsides from the length of time we sat there talking, eating, drinking and just plain laughing at the past.
It was a very memorable night for us. We are still in touch and we will be seeing each other again soon.

My uncle celebrated his 50th birthday last week. Everyone had a blast at the party my aunt and my cousins threw for him. At the end of the party, my uncle opened gifts and his smile was getting wider and wider as he opened one gift after another. He got a fishing rod, a humidor, a couple of shirts, a golf club, and a vacation for two for him and my aunt from their kids! He was so happy with his loot that he kept on telling everyone about it, again and again even if everyone already heard of it. Hahaha!
He’s always been easy to please. But I think more than the gifts he got, it’s the presence of everyone he loves that really made him happier than he can ever be.
I think everyone who knows me is aware of my love for the Harry Potter series, both books and the movies. Rupert Grint who played Ron Weasley in the movie franchise will forever me my fave. He’s funny and brilliant and I think I fell a little in love with him in the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.
I wish there will be more movies with him in it. Unfortunately, unlike Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson who managed to penetrate Hollywood beyond Harry Potter, Rupert is concentrating on his career in the UK.
Aunt Hilda still have five more weeks to prepare for her annual Halloween party. She throws the best spooky party year after year and people, both family and friends, really anticipate getting their Halloween invitations. It’s a well coveted invite and one where guests also prepare their best spooky costume to use.
I am not much into partying but when I know there’s so much fun to be had, like Aunt Hilda’s Halloween party, I go out of my way to attend it. Anyway, it happens once a year and both young, old and the young at heart, love it!
Holly is stuck at home. He broke her ankle and the doctor told her to stay put and not use her left leg too much or the bones won’t set. With nothing to do, she asked her parents for a tv set of her own and some rca video cables so she can do dvd marathons and even some tv shows that she had no time to watch before.
It would have been a nightmare for Holly to be inside the house 24/7. But now that she has some things to do, she is fine cooped up inside her bedroom. Anyway, her friends would come over after work and on weekends aside from the couch potato state she is happy to be in.
I had to change my Owl Theme to this one. The old one’s header, background image and an avatar got lost in photobucket for some reason, most likely the theme owner didn’t renew the subscription.
Too bad I really like that theme!
Oh well, at least this one is also cute. But it will take some getting used to. Still…
