That song Super Bass by Nicki Minaj is making me go boom-badoom-boom-boom-badoom-boom-boom! Hahaha! It’s so catchy that whenever I hear it I can’t stop myself from singing along. The beat is so much fun no wonder kids are dancing to it even though they can’t understand what words the singer is saying.

I think I will never get tired of listening to this song. How to Save a Life by The Fray. I love this video instead of the official one. This video reminds me of the old Grey’s Anatomy, before everyone started sleeping with someone’s ex or current and before everyone became a member of the third sex. A couple of years ago, when I was still in high school, my sisters and I used to sleep in the room on the first floor of the house. The rest of the family slept upstairs. We were fans of this radio show every 10PM on weekdays. We would listen to it until midnight, when the radio station signs off for the day. Because we were supposed to sleep early and my dad checked on us every 30 minutes or so, we would huddle on the bed and listen to the radio with the volume turned really low. It was pretty hilarious!
I was reminded of those days because I heard the song Oh, Baby, I. This song was the number 1 hit that time, and would be played again and again every hour.
When my sisters and I would reminisce about those days, we laugh so much until tears fall down our face. It was one of the best times of our lives!
I really, really love Perfect by Pink! It’s so heartwarming and a perfect song for women who are feeling down and insecure. I am feeling a little bit of the latter so I thought why not share the lyrics of the song here?

Ah, this song is making me feel so many shades of emotion as I listen to it. I know I am again ‘slow’ and ‘late’ in liking a popular song but that’s me. I don’t go with what’s the “in” song of the moment. It takes a while for me to like one.

I love music from the ’50s and ’70s. When I was in college, my friend and I would spend hours and hours talking on the phone while listening to the oldies. It was a happy time and one where my taste in music really expanded. I was introduced to funky music, alternative, soul and acid jazz. I even had a CD of fusion music.
But the oldies are the ones which still brings me so much nostalgia. It reminds me of those times when life was simpler and problems were down to a minimum.
After those years, it was chaos.
The radio show my friend and I would listen to all those years no longer exist. Even the radio deejay who took requests for music even from the ’20s was no longer with the radio station. I miss those days. I miss the music. I miss everything about it.
Another quick update…
I will no longer join Music Monday as that meme is not bringing me any traffic at all. I admit I join memes so this blog can gain traffic. So what’s the purpose of joining a meme if my goal is not served, right?
I will instead join Ruby Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday every other week. If I can, every week I will also join.
I might also join some other memes depending on the theme if I like it.
What songs would you choose as part of the soundtrack of your life and why?
Most of the songs by The Carpenters and all those old songs I listened to while growing up.
My mom loved listening to the radio while doing household chores. So my siblings and I grew up listening to the songs she listened to. I love those songs. Until now, i listen to most of it. I particularly like the mellow songs. I think I also got my mom’s habit of tuning in to her favorite radio station while working. I do the same thing.
My mom is no longer with us. But the music lives on. And it will forever continue playing until the day I die.
