Back up your files now!

My cousin encountered a problem with her laptop last week. It got a deadly virus that corrupted her hard drive. It was really sad considering she forgot to back up her files before it happened. Well, as you might have guessed, she lost all her files! This is the reason why I have three memory cards on standby all the time. I don’t have to remind you to back up. Do it now! Just like what I did a couple of minutes ago.

Do you know him?

There is a remarkable man I know. His name is Rey. He was writing for a local newspaper in the editorial section. Whereas the other columnist wrote about scathing remarks about the government and everybody else, he always tried to impart something substantial to his readers. He wrote about inspirational stories on events that really happened to people he know personally. I always make it a point to buy that newspaper on days I know he would publish his column. And you know, I believe it was two years worth of great articles from him. There was never a day that I read his column that I was disappointed. That’s the truth.

So you can imagine my disappointment when all of a sudden, he was off the newspaper already. No more Rey’s column to look forward to. No more inspirational stories to sustain me and help me grow. It was like being addicted to something and then that thing was taken out of your life. I was looking for him through the years but he never did write another column. I wish people knew who Rey is and how he helped changed a lot of lives including mine, the same way that people know who Norman Steisel is.

Used up

Because I write a lot and often do a lot of stuff in my computer, I already used up a chunk of my computer’s memory. There are days when the computer slows down. I haven’t had it checked yet but I am chalking it up to the computer’s memory. I might need an upgrade soon. I just wish it still can hold out a bit longer until I have enough funds to have it checked. I better be prepared when the technician tells me something really vital needs to be upgraded rather than have it checked and then wait until I saved enough to bring it back again.

Stick to the old one

For months, I deliberated whether to buy a new laptop or just have the current one I have upgraded. You see, I bought a Dell laptop about a year and a half ago. And you know when Dell is your brand of laptop, it really delivers. Unfortunately, since I am more into graphics, the dell memory is not enough. I either have to buy a new one to upgrade the existing one I have or replace it. I weighed the pros and cons and I believe I will stick with the current one I have for now. Just have it upgraded, instead of buying a brand new laptop which will cost me a lot of money in the long run.

Not good enough

My current desktop is acting up from time to time. When I asked my cousin to check it, he said that I need to upgrade my computer memory already. Apparently, I’ve been using up almost 97% of my computer’s memory already because of the various programs I have installed in it. Well, I am mostly using a web design program I am tinkering with and another program for the office.

So if my computer memory is not good enough, I will definitely upgrade it now. Or replace it. Whatever. Just as long as my computer will function properly after the upgrade.
