Carlos City Hall Bake Shop

If you don’t know me yet I will tell you one thing about me that you should know… I’m a big fan of travel and cooking shows! One of my favorite shows is TLC‘s Cake Boss. I just love watching Buddy Valastro and his gang do their amazing cakes and patries.

One of these days I will visit Carlo’s Bake Shop on Hoboken, New Jersey.

That’s a promise I am making to myself!

In a rush!

2012
02.29

My sisters and I were in a rush to buy a wedding gift last weekend. We didn’t have time to prepare for the wedding as we got the invitation only the day before it. The mailman told us that it was delivered to another house by mistake and was just able to rectify it at the last minute.

So we went to the store nearest our residence. We were in a hurry to choose the best wedding gift we could give. When we were about to checkout, there was about eight persons lined up to the counter! Good thing the POS and the pc charge are functioning well or we would have been late for the party!

Whew!

I told my sisters that we should have at least one generic wedding gift that we can bring with us when it happens again.

Enjoy life!

Enjoy your life

Life is a series of ups and downs.

You can be at the top right now but eventually expect a downhill path to lead. It doesn’t mean your life is taking a turn for the worse but just that everything is meant to go down after staying a while on top. That’s life.

You can be down and out now but don’t give up. There are still reasons to smile and hope that tomorrow will be better than today. Down now? Eventually you will find yourself either in a stable ride upwards or already on top!

Smile!

Tomorrow’s a brand new day and there’s hope for all of us.

Good kid

2012
02.23

I know for a fact that my cousin Nico is a good kid. He is obedient, responsible, studious and conscientious. He will go out of his way to help others. You won’t find him being anything but kind to his siblings and the elders around him. No wonder that when he requests for something from his parents, even if they can’t really afford one, they consider it and 90% of the time gives him what he asks for. As long as it’s reasonable and won’t do him harm, his requests are taken into consideration.

His last request was a guitar. It is the only hobby he has aside from drawing and sketching (the last two he also uses for his part-time summer job) so his parents looked and got him one of the used Acoustic-Electric Guitars sold online. Needless to say, Nico was so happy when he got his guitar! He is now using it as a diversion when he has no school work to take care of.

Dear Diary…

dear diary

I make use of a journal to keep track of things happening in my life. It may not be much but it’s still a life I would like to cherish. There isn’t much big events but I treasure and relive those moments I spent with love ones and friends. I love reminiscing about the good times and the even the some of the bad ones that taught me lessons and made me stronger.

A journal. A diary. One and the same.

Do you use one?

Happy Monday!

Going crazy!

2012
02.13

I swear things are going so fast I think I am going crazy! I feel as if my head needs lead screws to keep it together. Work. Personal life. Everything!

I must admit that I am not used to a fast-paced life. I am the easy-going type. I hate problems. I hate complications, bumps along the road. I just hope that things will fall into place soon enough.

Ah life. Sometimes you are so complicated and confusing I feel like things are spiraling out of control and I am lost in the middle of it all. But there are also times when life is so grand I couldn’t ask for more.

I just wish there’s more of the latter than the former.

Breakup of Bamboo

2012
02.10

Bamboo Band

One of the local alternative rock bands I listen to was Bamboo. It was composed of Bamboo Mañalac, Nathan Azarcon (both formerly of the band Rivermaya), Ira Cruz, and Vic Mercado. They popularized such songs as Hallelujah, Noypi, Tatsulok, and Mr. Clay. My favorite was Much Has Been Said, though.

I wasn’t really aware Bamboo disbanded back in January of 2011. In fact, I thought the band was just in hiatus, probably making another album. My sister told me about it and she said that Bamboo, the vocalist, made another controversy by leaving the band with unsettled issues.

And then I read about it in PEP.ph an hour or so ago! Former bassist of the group, Nathan Azarcon, spoke to PEP about the breakup of Bamboo and how their vocalist made it all seem mutual but in truth, he left them high and dry. He left without so much as a notice to the group and before they knew it, he was already going solo. Ah, Bamboo! I really love you but with these issues you had first with Rivermaya, and then now with your very own Bamboo band…

Sayang.

Bamboo band could have been a really great one. With their songs that are good and not jologs at all!

Anyway, good thing we can still listen to their songs via Youtube, including their past gigs. Sayang lang talaga. They were good eh!

Beauty is the key.

2012
02.09

If there is a shop-a-holic in the area I live in, that would be Amelia. The woman is just so into anything fashion-related! Clothes, bags, accessories, shoes… and make-up! I am telling you she can spend hours online browsing sites for cosmetics. She recently came to know about oro gold cosmetics and now she is asking her boyfriend if he can buy her some. Of course, the lovesick guy will give her anything she wants!

She once told me that beauty is the key to getting most out of life. I didn’t believe her. But these days, when I see how some women get all the stuff they want because they possess beauty I don’t have, I remember Amelia and her statement. I guess she’s right then.

Beauty might really be the key.

No to gray hair, yes to looking younger!

2012
02.09

My older cousin Albert has a head full of gray hair. Premature gray hair, if I might add. He is only in his late 30′s but if you look at his hair, you’d think he’s already twice his age! He tried using permanent hair color but as you know, as soon as the hair grows longer, the color goes down as well. And the word “permanent” is not true at all! If like my cousin you shampoo your hair daily (as he travels quite a lot) then the color fades more quickly. So what can my cousin Albert do to finally say goodbye to gray hair and say hi to looking his age once again?

I suggest trying out a tried and tested product like the one at www.NoGrayHairs.com and see if it’s effective on him just like on others that have tried it out.

There’s a reason why people with gray hair go to hair experts to have their mane treated, or those others who buy bottles of permanent hair color… they all want to look younger once again. They want to say goodbye to gray hair and get back the vibrant hair color they once have. Go to www.NoGrayHairs.com now and see what help the site can give to you and to people like my cousin Albert.

Summer is almost here!

Cliff jump

One summer my friend and her boyfriend went to Boracay and my friend went cliff diving. I was jealous! I also would like to jump down a cliff into the blue waters. I want to test how far I’d go.

Summer is almost here! I am planning on hitting the beach anytime on April and enjoy two days or so there.

Any plans this coming summer season?

Before she goes to sleep…

2012
02.05

Melody was named after her parents’ love for music. Her dad was a former drummer of a band while her mom was a former lounge singer. It’s no wonder that Melody grew up with music as part of her life. There’s always someone singing at home or playing a musical instrument.

When Melody was a little girl, she had piano lessons. But when she turned 8, she asked for a guitar and from then on was into playing it than any other musical instrument they have at home. She is now 16 and has this habit of playing the guitar before she goes to sleep at night. She plans to use her guitar playing skills in the church choir. And possibly in a band her friends are thinking of forming.

Heavy training

2012
02.05

Gio will be undergoing heavy training for the coming equestrian competition that he will be joining. He has been training since he was a little kid and now that he’s in his teens, he is ready to join the more challenging competitions out there. He has his equestrian helmets always ready and his apparel, of course. He is always ready for training after school.

Gio’s dad is an athlete so it goes to follow that he encourages his kids to be athletes, too. Or have an outdoor activity they can always indulge in on weekends. He doesn’t want them inside the house all the time and he wants them to be in the best shape possible always.

That’s why Gio is training hard so his dad will always be proud of his achievements.

I am a simple person with simple joys and dreams. I don’t aim for something out of my reach. I am practical and realistic. I know what I can and can’t have.

That’s why I enjoy the simple things in life. The good things I appreciate and treasure. Whatever success I will reach further in life, I will forever be a simple girl with the simple joys and dreams.

Being a golf player

2012
02.05

Joe tried out golf about three years ago. His boss made him go because he was showing signs of too much stress due to the delicate project they were handling back then. Joe went and was surprised to find that he loved the challenge! After that one time golf game, he bought his own gear and supplies and signed up for a golf membership in a club near his residence.

His stress level went down. He was able to relax every Sunday morning with his friends and even his wife whom he also encouraged to join the fun. Both Joe and his wife are now regular golf players. They have their eye on a gps tool and after reading the garmin golf gps review are sold to the idea of getting one for their next golf game this coming weekend.
