Another quick update…

I will no longer join Music Monday as that meme is not bringing me any traffic at all. I admit I join memes so this blog can gain traffic. So what’s the purpose of joining a meme if my goal is not served, right?

I will instead join Ruby Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday every other week. If I can, every week I will also join.

I might also join some other memes depending on the theme if I like it.

Soundtrack of my life

2010
03.28

What songs would you choose as part of the soundtrack of your life and why?

Most of the songs by The Carpenters and all those old songs I listened to while growing up.

My mom loved listening to the radio while doing household chores. So my siblings and I grew up listening to the songs she listened to. I love those songs. Until now, i listen to most of it. I particularly like the mellow songs. I think I also got my mom’s habit of tuning in to her favorite radio station while working. I do the same thing.

My mom is no longer with us. But the music lives on. And it will forever continue playing until the day I die.

Right away!

2010
03.28

My aunt is a person who likes to do things right away. Last week, she realized that she hadn’t gotten a life insurance for her 6-year-old boy yet. So she immediately sought for a life insurance online quote. You can say that she’s a stickler for schedules, routines and rules. She’s always been like that even when I was still a kid. I know her well because I grew up with her around. She’s my second mom.

I wish I got the same attitude. I am a great procrastinator, I must admit. I wait to do things at the last possible minute. Yes, that’s me. I am trying to kick the bad habit but I guess it’s stuck on my side forever. Sad.

An update finally!

colds

I haven’t been updating much the past few days. I know, I’m sorry about that. I was just so busy with so many things that updates took a back seat. Not to mention the nasty colds took over my body so my brain felt so clogged and thinking became impossible.

This week, even though it’s already the Lenten season, I am hoping that I will be able to release the productive in me. I love being productive but I must say that there are really weeks, stretches of it sometimes, that the lazy in me will take over and I can’t do anything about it.

I’m really praying that this week will be different. And I am praying to finally say goodbye to these nasty colds.

Gone wild over a cream

2010
03.20

So there’s a wrinkle remover cream and my cousin Beth is going gaga over it. She loves going to the beach and sunbathing. Because of too much exposure to sunlight, she’s showing signs of premature wrinkles already. When she heard about the cream, you can say that she’s gone wild about it!

Of course, we tell her that she can’t use it and then go back to toasting herself under the sun. She should start taking care of her skin more because she’s not getting any younger. I do believe she’s going to follow our advice. Otherwise, she might end up looking like a toasted wrinkly old woman.

Convinced!

I am convinced! The appetite suppressant reviews I read are enough. Yes, I will be taking the plunge! I’m taking appetite suppressants and will also be going on a more vegetable-less pork diet. I will also cut down my rice intake as this will shoot up my blood sugar to a level I don’t want it to reach.

I can be stubborn. But I also listen to good advice. And this advice from concerned family and relatives is heard.

A scare

2010
03.20

One of my former bosses had a colon cleanser. I learned that he had a colon cancer scare while traveling. It was a good thing that he asked for a second opinion when he went home. But with that scare, he vowed to change his lifestyle. He’s been a meat lover and a hard drinker. That will change now. I heard that his wife is imposing a change in their menu. No more meat. It will be vegetables and an occasional white meat for all of them!

I guess it will take a good scare for someone who’s set in his ways to change. For my boss, the scare might be a blessing in disguise.

Suffering

2010
03.20

Every time I see my grandmother suffering from arthritis, I promise myself that I will do everything to avoid suffering from the same thing. There’s the msm supplement. I also plan on avoiding food that will trigger it. I will exercise, diet, lose weight. Every little thing I know that will guarantee I won’t suffer from arthritis.

My dad might be suffering from it already. My sister is also afraid she might be suffering from it, too. They will both be consulting a doctor about it. And hopefully, it’s false alarm.

Chill out

2010
03.20

There’s a reason for women to be rejoicing: there’s a wrinkle serum we can all use!

Seriously, women are so conscious about their skin. Sometimes, I tell my friends to chill out and just let nature takes its course. In my case, I tell myself that I am taking care of my skin and that’s enough for me. If I get wrinkles, I’d try the serum and then when nothing happens, nature must be telling me that it’s really time for the wrinkles to appear. In that case, I will let them be.

Going back or not?

2010
03.13

When I think of a corporate job, I go back and forth over whether I would earn more working at home or going back to the rat race world. I do know that I could earn more from the corporate world if I really want to. I can find a good company, get a high position and demand a good compensation package. But then I realized, at the end of the day, it’s still the satisfaction I get from the work I’m doing which is the motivating factor for me. With working at home, I can spend time with my family more. I get to earn from doing something I love the most: writing.

So going back or not? Not! With a bit of a wavering…

Proper wedding attire

2010
03.13

They rented tuxedos for the wedding. It was the right thing to do. I can’t imagine why some people would attend a wedding wearing their faded jeans. It’s a special occasion especially one that says in the invites that the guests should come in formal attire.

I remember I attended a friend’s beach wedding. I understand that since it’s held in a resort, some people felt compelled to wear semi-casual attire. But we were horrified by some guests of the bride who attended wearing sando and slippers! Yikes! I guess they forgot that it’s a wedding they were attending and not a preparation to dive to the cool waters of the beach.

Starting a new work

2010
03.13

Ken is applying for a credit card. He will be flying to Singapore soon to start a new work there. He’s thinking that he will use the card first until his finances stabilize. The credit card processing will take two weeks, he was told. He has more than enough time to take care of other things before his flight.

I envy Ken right now. He will be starting a new life in Singapore. He accepted a really good job in a company where two of his closest friends also work. His new job has free lodging and transportation. Not to mention the fact that his status will be that of an expatriate which will give him more perks there.

Buff!

2010
03.06

Jon’s time with the dip station in the gym is already paying off. He is sporting a buff body when we saw him over lunch yesterday! He was actually overweight a year ago. He started going to the gym after a brief stay abroad. He felt so uneasy with his weight and vowed that the day returned home, he would do everything to get back in shape.

I think he enjoys going to the gym so he goes daily even on Sundays and now… he’s buff! Time to look for that woman who will appreciate it even more! Hahaha!

Joy of living again

2010
03.04

Life is a series of bumps on the road. That’s how I see it. But we can always skirt around these bumps or find another way to get to where we want to be. One way of overcoming these bumps is through the help of passages malibu. It is a facility that helps you solve not only the addiction but also the underlying cause of the addiction itself. The cure center offers a holistic approach to recovery.

I am sure you will come across passages malibu reviews that will tell you how beautiful the facility is as well as how effective the unique approach the rehab uses in treating drug and alcohol dependents. Don’t you think it would be beneficial for a person undergoing a crisis in life to be in a place where he can totally relax his mind and body while being assisted by a group of therapists to achieve the joy of living again? That’s what Passages Malibu can do.

You can go on a passages malibu facility tour through the videos you can find at Youtube. You can see for yourself how going to the facility would feel more of a vacation for the dependent. This is good considering the person won’t feel like he or she is going to a place where he or she will be treated like a hospital patient with a debilitating disease.

Go ahead and gather more information about Passages Malibu. Make sure you get a drug or alcohol dependent the help he or she needs. You can check out their web site at PassagesMalibu.com or call their 24-hour line where you can talk to a professional coordinator.
