Thinking Out Loud

I will be hanging out at my aunt’s house tonight because we don’t have a DSL connection at home. I will just bring my laptop to their house and my Linksys router and hopefully, I can get a decent connection by then. I have some work done online so a DSL connection for me is a must. But then due to the storm, services were cut and will be back hopefully within the next few days.

I am busy as a bee this week. Aside from work, I will also accompany an older relative to get her Plano porcelain veneers done. And then I will help clean the house of another relative affected by the last typhoon. And then I have to catch up on other things.

I was supposed to go on a one-week vacation leave but since the storm affected a lot of people, I was asked to postpone my vacation to next month.

I’ve seen the Myrtle beach hotels where my friends are booking their accommodations. I am envious! I want to go except that I don’t have the money. Sigh. These are the times when I wish I have more than enough funds that I can use to travel. I am not an extravagant person and the only luxuries in life I indulge on are books and travel. Oh, and food! I wish I have the funds for travel. I am not getting any younger and it would be really cool to at least explore a few countries before I reach 40.

A friend is thinking of opening an office supply business. It’s a great idea considering he is part of the purchasing team of a multinational company. He knows what companies like theirs need. In fact, some of his former employers are already asking him about the business he’ll be putting up. They are all interested. I am sure that he’ll be a good supplier and they know it.

A few years ago, this blog had a high rank in the search engines. But over the course of those years, I lost the ranking. I want it back! It’s just costly to pay for advertisements where I can get backlinks I need. A concerned blogger-friend told me that there is a free web directory where I can sign up and list my blog in. That would be my goal for this week. Find as many free web directories as I can.

With what happened to my blogs in the past 24 hours, I now see the value of backups more than ever. My cousin told be about online backup before. I just might check it out again. For now, I will try to correct the corrupted codes and see if I can put my blogs up again. If not, I need help from the experts. Frankly, I just might be letting the experts tinker with what’s corrupted. I am dead tired already!
