Nursery room

My cousin is thinking of having their guest room redecorated to suit their need for a nursery room. My cousin is expecting her first baby. She wants something soothing, a room where her baby will be able to sleep without too much distraction. She is buying baby green paints, bamboo shades, some baby purple blankets… she’s still deciding on the carpet, though. She is debating whether to put a carpet or just plain hardwood. I suggested the latter because carpet can be a mecca for germs and bacteria.

Anniversary month

Our company is getting ready for the coming 2009. We are gathering promotional items that we can use for the re-launch of the company in early February, that being our anniversary month. The company assembled a team of senior officers who will overlook and take charge of the anniversary month. It will be a month-long filled of activities targeted to remind our partners and competitors of our decision to keep our lead in the market.

Going on a business trip

I am looking for a luggage that I packed in the storage room almost a year ago. I don’t know why I can’t find it where I last saw it. I know no one in the family have taken it out to use it. I guess I just have to buy a new one should I really not find it soon. I will be going on a business trip next week and I need a sturdy luggage set because I will be bringing some important items with me.

Love affair with dieting

Being healthy is my goal right now. I have been struggling with my weight for years now. On and off is how I would describe my “love affair” with dieting. I have gone on a strict diet regimen that resulted to a 20-pounds loss but then I gained it back afterwards. I also did some tests with the popular diet programs like South Beach and the like. But again, it was all for nothing. I am thinking of taking diet pills and we’ll see what will happen.

Thanksgiving dilemma

My cousin was talking to me about this coming Thanksgiving celebrations. It is tradition in our family to celebrate it at the ancestral house. The house has a big garden so we can all gather there and celebrate Thanksgiving together. It is a must that we attend. Or we will never hear the end of it from our elders.

My cousin’s problem is that he wants to celebrate it at his girlfriend’s house. I can understand him. It would be a great time for his girl’s parents to get to know him better. It is a perfect time to spend with his future in-laws. But well, it is actually a bad time for him to be absent in a family gathering. So he is torn. He already bought a Thanksgiving gift basket he will be giving his girlfriend’s parents.

I told him that he can probably spend the earlier part of the day at his girlfriend’s house and just pop in at the family gathering by dinner time, when every one is surely present. That way, he will be able to spend the day with people he loves. Am I right?

Now, you might be looking for a great Thanksgiving gift basket like what my cousin found. Just go to www.1800Flowers.com and you will find an assortment there.

Stressful cycle

I seriously need to go on Orlando vacations with friends right now. I think I will just keel over and die anytime because of the constant stress I am in. I am starting to feel stomach cramps from time to time, a sure sign that I am stressed out once more. I experienced this a couple of years ago before I quit the call center job I had. I thought I am fine already but I guess this is just a cycle I am in. Sigh.

Away from stress

There are days when I feel like going to another place like Outer Banks and stay there even for a few days. Just to unwind and recharge. It would be good to leave work and worries behind even for a while. It would probably be good not just for the mind but also for the body. Imagine yourself away from all the things that stresses you… feels good just by thinking about it, right? What more if you are actually experiencing it!

Favor

November came in a grand entrance. It was raining cats and dogs and still is. I am feeling so sluggish this Monday morning. I know I have a lot of catching up I need to do but I will take it slow. For now, I have to check out fibromyalgia and what it entails. A friend of mine is asking me a favor from me to research the sickness for her. And I will, considering I am not really in the mood to start my to-do list.
