I maintain two checking accounts , one for my personal expenses and one that I share with my mom. What I don’t like with two checking accounts is that I have to monitor two accounts instead of one. I could have opened a power checking account but I don’t really know if I can come up with the daily maintaining balance that the bank is asking from me. That would be too much. I could already invest that in short-term money market placements and earn bigger interest than the one it will earn just sitting there in the account.
Recently, a friend of mine told me about a WaMu personal checking account. I would love to apply for one but I need to know if I can combine the two current ones that I have. Will it be beneficial for me if I do that?
